i have alot of things i got for free (dresser night stand desk and bookshelf) but they are all differant colors so i want to paint them up and make them all match. what colors scheme do you think is nice i like bold colors like purple, teal, magenta, i also like black, i like light pastel colors too but i dont want it to look like a 5 year olds room… the walls have to stay white b/c its an apartment but i would like my stuff to stand out and be unique what so you think…

I just bought a used tall Dresser.
In very good shape. But i’d like to furnish it into dark cherry wood to match the bed-room. Only nick-nacks on the top of the dresser.
i was wondering if i’d have to sand the whole dresser down before putting a new color on it? It’s light brown right now. And i don’t really like the way it has a ‘rust’ look. And want to make it a Dark solid wood color. Would i have to sand the whole thing, or could i just coat it over? What would be my best result?
