Where’s a good place to get a first bed? Ikea? Craigslist? I have a decent amount I could spend, but I don’t want to pay more than necessary. I don’t even really know what this should cost.

Ive looked on ebay, antique stores, and garage sales. I didnt know if there was a nifty online store to find stuff at. Any tips on retro decor?
Thanks for the tips so far! Im looking on craigslist. As far as time periods…I dont really know. Im much more of an eclectic and just get it if it looks good (and if it matches everything) not incredibly old…I would say 70′s. Just stuff thats kind of out there and unique. Im going for a city look though and some of the prints Ive picked out are of New York. I also have a few modern pieces mixed in. Im sorta new to this so Im planning before I purchase!!

In a few weeks I’ll be moving for a job that will keep me in the same city for about 1-2 years. Once I find an apartment I’ll have to furnish it; since I’ll be moving again within a few years would it make more sense to rent than to buy furnishings? Should I just browse through Craigslist for a few days to find cheaper furniture? I was wondering what other options are out there…what it comes down to is that I don’t want to have a ton of furniture to move every time I start a new contract.

I recently moved to a new area, and I couldn’t bring any of the stuff from my old place. I’ve had apartments before, but most of my stuff was either donated or purchased off friends inexpensively. About how much am I looking at to furnish from scratch, if I’m willing to buy used things off craigslist, or from the salvation army? I’d need to furnish a bedroom, living room and kitchen. Thanks!
