I’m moving to another city to attend grad school and I’m extremely broke. At some point while living up there I’d like to furnish my apartment with more than four lawn chairs and a mattress. I don’t care if it matches or not, I’d just like some good recommendations on incredibly cheap furniture.

If they offer to move it to your house too, even better, but right now I’ll take any suggestions you all can offer. Thanks!

I’m subletting my furnished apartment and would like to steam clean my mattress when I return.

I figured I would rent a steam cleaner from my local grocery store to deep clean my mattress. However, I read that this can cause mold. Is this true? What the best way to clean the matress/get rid of the subtenant’s body odour?

Thanks!

What is the best way to clean a used mattress?

I’m planning to buy a used bedroom set to furnish a spare bedroom in my house. What’s the best way to clean the mattress?

I’m a recent college grad furnishing my new apartment. I want a new mattress, but I’m willing to buy everything else used. I’m not really a huge fan of the Craigslist pickup, so does anyone know of somewhere to buy cheap and consignment furniture? Especially in Plymouth/ St. Louis Park/ Minneapolis?

We bought a Sealy Cameo Glow Mattress from American Home Furnishings in Farmington, NM. It is a sister store to American Home Furnishings in Albuquerque. We are reasonable people and are not the kind to complain. But this mattress has made our sleep miserable. The body indentions/impressions are unbelievable. You can’t even do it justice by taking pictures or by laying a level across the bed. Try laying on this bed for a moment! You would sink into these major body impressions within moments. And you sink so far in that it is difficult to turn from side to side. If you lie in the middle of the bed, you will roll off to the sides into the impressions. We are small people too, but you would think these body impressions were from heavy set people that slept on this bed for YEARS AND YEARS, not thin people sleeping on it for a few months. Please do what is right, Sealy and American Home Furnishings. We aren’t asking much. We just want to exchange the bed for one we can sleep well in…
